the report, solvent-borne inks consist of hydrophobic resins. This results in
an inadequate flow and formation of lumps while recycling the substrate in an
aqueous condition, affecting the quality of the recycled product. However,
waterborne inks are manufactured from water-dispersible polymers; therefore,
they enhance the flow of the inks and significantly benefit the printers by
reducing the overall cost.
Further, the report states that in emerging markets, the demand for solvent-borne inks is high because of the lack of stringent regulations. However, with increasing awareness regarding the use of VOC inks, the printing market in these regions is expected to shift toward eco-friendly alternatives.
